Originally from Quebec City, Alex-Ann has lived most of her life in a French-speaking community in Eastern Ontario. Having personally seen and felt the direct impact and the importance of language law work for official language minority communities, Alex-Ann is actively committed to this cause.
After completing her articling in the Ottawa office, Alex-Ann joined Power Law as an associate in the spring of 2023. During law school, Alex-Ann interned with Senator Kim Pate in the Senate of Canada. Introduced to the world of politics and legislation, Alex-Ann developed a particular interest in how the law can be used as a lever for long-term change. Her commitment to human rights led to an internship at the University of Ottawa’s Equality Law Clinic.
Prior to joining Power Law, Alex-Ann graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Social Sciences, majoring in Criminology and minoring in Law. Alex-Ann studied law in the Programme de droit canadien at the University of Ottawa, where she obtained degrees in both civil and common law. She was awarded the Luc-Despins Prize, given annually to the person with the highest grade point average in the Programme de droit canadien. Alex-Ann will soon be joining the Federal Court as a law clerk for a year-long clerkship.
In her spare time, Alex-Ann particularly enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring the Outaouais region. Also, an avid traveler, Alex-Ann has lived in Australia, New Zealand, and Scotland, and has traveled to over 30 countries.
Alex-Ann practises law in French and English. She is also conversational in Spanish.
