Since joining Power Law, Anne has acquired experience representing the interests of public organizations, with a particular focus on First Nations, before the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Anne is well versed in the rules of procedure of this court, particularly in the various preliminary stages of litigation, including the preparation of motions and other complex proceedings.
With her experience at the Ontario Court of Justice, Anne has acquired an excellent grasp of civil procedure and the law of evidence, and has also worked with the Honourable Senator Marilou McPhedran, and with the Honourable Senator Julie Miville-Dechêne. The issues of gun control, lowering the voting age to 16 in Canada, and universal basic income were all issues that Anne had the chance to work on during her time at the Senate, strengthening her commitment to social justice while developing a solid understanding of the legislative process.
Originally from Hearst, Anne is a proud Franco-Ontarian and attaches great importance to the accessibility of social justice for minority communities, including the advancement of justice in French. Committed, persevering and analytical, Anne makes it a priority to find appropriate and effective solutions for her clients. Her meticulousness and attention to detail make her a rigourous advocate for her clients’ rights.
Anne practices law in both French and English. Outside the office, she can be found practicing taekwondo or watercolor painting.
Originally from Hearst, Anne completed her bachelor’s degree in criminology and her law studies at the University of Ottawa, in the French Common Law Program. During her law studies, Anne became very involved in faculty life, being elected Submissions Manager of French Articles for the Ottawa Law Review, Vice-President of Communications for the Regroupement étudiant de common law en français, and Vice-President Equity for the University of Ottawa Common Law Student Society. This commitment speaks to the importance Anne attaches to the accessibility of social justice for minority communities, and to the advancement of justice in French.
Before joining Power Law in 2024, Anne articled with a large national firm. This enabled her to gain experience in corporate law and litigation in a variety of fields. This experience also enabled her to familiarize herself with several pre-trial procedural steps.
