Emily has experience in complex public-interest litigation, having worked on one of the largest and most complex minority-language education rights trials in the history of British Columbia. Her litigation experience includes witness preparation, evidentiary review, drafting closing arguments and factums (trial and appellate) and work on chambers applications. She is well versed in the rules of civil procedure of British Columbia and has experience on litigation files at both the trial and appellate levels.
Before joining Power Law, Emily gained international rights advocacy experience working with the United Nations Human Rights Office, Global Human Rights Defence in The Hague, and the World Economic Forum.
Diligent, and analytical, Emily prioritizes practical and effective solutions for her clients. Her meticulousness and attention to detail make her a rigorous advocate for her clients’ rights. Before pursuing law, she trained and performed as a professional ballet dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, an experience that reflects the discipline, precision, and performance under pressure that she brings to her practice.
Originally from Vancouver, Emily has lived in five different countries and brings a global perspective to her practice. She practices in English and French.
