Giacomo initially joined the Montreal office of Power Law in 2019 after having practiced in a wide range of matters in civil litigation, including complex commercial disputes, class actions, construction litigation, insurance claims, defamation proceedings and injunctions.
Since joining the firm, Giacomo has also worked on numerous cases in public and constitutional law, including the constitutional challenges to Quebec’s Bill 40 (Procureur général du Québec c Quebec English School Board Association, 2020 QCCA 1171) and Bill 21 (Hak c Procureur général du Québec, 2021 QCCS 1466).
He successfully argued the appeal in Canada (Commissioner of Official Languages) v Canada (Employment and Social Development), 2022 FCA 14 in which the Federal Court of Appeal ordered the federal government to terminate a major agreement with the government of British Columbia that had been in force for a decade because it violated the Official Languages Act’s obligation for federal institutions to enhance the vitality of English and French linguistic minority communities in Canada.
Giacomo also advises clients in contractual and private law matters. More recently, he argued successfully to obtain an interlocutory injunction for temporary access to property: 9383-7920 Quebec Inc. c Zolla, 2023 QCCS 1354.
Giacomo has argued cases before the Quebec Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Superior Court, the Court of Quebec and several administrative tribunals. He has offered legal advice and been involved in cases in five Canadian provinces.
As of 2023, he works from the firm’s Vancouver office.
Giacomo practices in French and in English. He is also fluent in Italian.

Ha altresì rappresentato clienti in ulteriori materie che includono contenziosi tra azionisti di società commerciali, nonché in materia edilizia, assicurativa e fattispecie connesse alla diffamazione, avanti alla corte d’appello, la corte superiore, la corte provinciale e vari tribunali amministrativi in Quebec.
